1.1 – Who, what, when, where, why and how questions

Begin the stem with the interrogative. This phrasing reflects spoken language and is more natural sounding.

Correct examples
  • Who determines that a part has a core charge?
  • What is used to remove diesel exhaust residue?
  • Where is the lanyard attached on the safety harness?
  • When is a fall protection harness inspected?
  • Why are solvent‑based tinters agitated?
‘How’ questions are Taxonomy I only when they are quantifiable (e.g. ‘how many’, ‘how much’). The responses must not contain a verb.

  • How many radius points are in a Tudor arch?
